Industrial Progressive Cavity Pump
The screw pump is a versatile hydraulic machine, ideal for stationary applications due to its simple design and low number of parts, and can be a low-cost solution for handling a variety of fluids and tasks. Due to their robustness and wide range of applications, these pumps are well suited for both food processing and general industrial use. All parts that come into contact with liquid in the food industry are made of stainless steel. Pumps for industrial products can be made of special steel. The suction and discharge connections can be flanged or unionised. Simple and special assembly ensures quick disassembly of all parts without technical support.
Main advantages of the design
- Delicate fluid movement without disturbing the structure of the medium.
- Minimal fluid pulsation at the pump outlet, very quiet operation in general.
- This is a self-priming pump capable of lifting up to 8 m.p.s., depending on the viscosity of the medium, pump speed and the number of stages in the rotor-stator pair.
- The pump is capable of handling multiphase media with dissolved gas and gas pockets, liquids with particles and fibres, viscous and non-viscous liquids.
- The outlet fluid flow is proportional to the pump speed, making it easy to dose the pumped medium.
How screw pumps work
The pumping element consists of a precision-machined single outer spiral metal rotor and a double inner spiral elastomeric stator. Due to the special shape of the rotor and stator, a sealed line is formed along the rotor axis, which is maintained in both static and dynamic conditions.
As the rotor rotates inside the stator, these cavities move from the suction port to the pump discharge port.
Warnings for the use of screw pumps
- Never allow the pump to run dry, you risk burning the stator elastomer.
- Never adjust the flow rate by partially closing the discharge valve, as this pump is a positive displacement type, this will increase the load on the stator shaft with consequent damage to the transmission and motor if they are not protected against overload.

Progressive cavity pumps

Peristaltic volumetric pumps

Internal gear pumps
Internal gear pumps are self-priming positive displacement pumps with a robust and simple design (only two moving parts).
